ABOUT US
Welcome to United Childrens Aid. We believe that all too often our children are neglected and left in doubtful survival situations. Situations that if they survive, could leave them physically and mentally scarred for life. This trauma can perpetuate a cycle of abuse and neglect for their children. We at United Childrens Aid are dedicated to the belief that children are our future and the best hope for the world. Please join us in the mission to:
1. Keep Families Together
2. Help Legally Eligible Children to be Adopted
3. Help Meet The Needs of The Children Left Behind
Together we can make a difference in the world, one child at a time.
United Childrens Aid is recognized as a 501c(3) not-for-profit organization by the Internal Revenue Service of the United States Government. All donations and contributions are tax deductible. UCA NEWS UPDATE
SUCCESSFUL FIRST MISSION TRIP TO AID CHILDREN
Joseph G. Kahl, President and Executive Director of United Childrens Aid was in Russia from June 22-July 2, 2001 to distribute aid to needy children. He joined the Josh McDowell organization's Operation Carelift 2001 and spent the bulk of his time in Ivanovo (pronounced E-von-off), a textile center located 180 kilometers northeast of Moscow.
While in Ivanovo, Mr. Kahl visited 5 orphanages, 2 prisons (women and boys aged 12-16 years old) and a children's street shelter. As a group, they delivered approximately 6 tons of food, soap, medicine, books, toys and candy.United Childrens Aid distributed its first cash contributions to the "Special Boarding School in Kohma" and the "Street Children's Shelter in Ivanovo". The children were caring, loving and giving. They wanted to share the little they had with strangers. The children at the boarding school were also dirty, and hungry. The conditions they lived in were deplorable. They had little food, the facilities were rotting and falling down and they had no toys or recreational equipment.
Mr. Kahl has prioritized the work needed to make the most impact on helping these children based on economic need. It appears that the world has forgotten these wonderful children; we must show them that someone cares. Winter is coming fast and we HAVE to do something quickly. The pictures will be posted soon.
Since Mr. Kahl has been home, he has secured local Russian help in Ivanovo to handle wire transfers for United Childrens Aid for additional distributions to the boarding school and the street shelter. Mr. Kahl is also in negotiations with the Ivanovo Christian Center (a nondenominational organization) to secure other trustworthy causes and local "hands" for support.
United Childrens Aid is preparing its first fund raising letter. Please don't wait for the fund raising letter - help is needed quickly. Let us know if you can contribute to the children. The need is great and we now have a way to get the aid directly to the children who desperately need it. With your help, we have a way to make a difference, one child at a time.
Thank you for your support and help. You'll know you are part of the "solution" for some desperate kids that others have chosen to forget.
Sincerely,
Joseph G. Kahl
President and Executive Director
